13/06: Blind Dinner & Wine Pairing Fundraiser for SENSE

I’m excited to announce not only our first blind food & wine tasting event at Uncorked Academy, but also our first charity fundraiser dinner, for SENSE. We will of course be adhering to social distancing measures as outlined by the government.
About Sense: For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to help people communicate and experience the world.
Caroline, homechef and USA native, is running the London Marathon and is raising funds and awareness for this worthwhile charity. Proceeds from the dinner will go to SENSE and their programme to help the deafblind experience travel abroad.
The theme for the dinner is “world foods”, where we experience 4 dishes (with hands and spoons) paired with 4 monovarietal world wines, in the dark! Allow your senses to guide and enjoy as we guess the continent, the country, the flavours of each dish and wine. This is an exhilarating dinner for a good cause, don’t miss out!
WHEN: Saturday 13th June, 20.30h-23h

Zara Patterson

Hello, I’m Zara Patterson, originally from Northern Ireland but Barcelona has been my home since 2006. Although my uni background is in PR and Events, my natural progression in gastronomy along with years of wine training has led to sommelier accreditations from WSET (Level 2 Award in Wines) and Gremi de Restauració (Sommelier Diploma). At Escuela Hofmann I have undertaken their Michelin-star specialisation diploma in paella, to take my cooking classes at Savour Academy to the next level. For the sustainability cause, I also received my Environmental Management qualification from Foment Barcelona. With Savour Academy, I’m combining my love of creative culinary events and hosting in my favourite place in the world. I like to share original, sustainable and fun experiences; preferably with food and wine, based in Barcelona.
