Dear food lovers visiting Barcelona – Please forget about booking a Boqueria market and tapas tour! Shocking though it sounds, this kind of foodie tour is cramped for groups and not “doing it like the locals do”.

Although I certainly recommend that you take a morning to visit the Boqueria market during your stay in Barcelona, you really want to hit the gastronomy where it’s at – in the Sant Antoni neighbourhood!

Did you know that famous chef Ferran Adrià opened his Michelin-rated restaurants only in Sant Antoni? What does this show us about Barcelona’s love of farm and market-fresh, local produce in the Sant Antoni neighbourhood?

I’ll give you a look at the past, present and foodie future of this thriving, local scene. Where brunch in Barcelona began, where gin tonics made it, where vermouth weekends became a thing – and where the coolest and also the oldest of Barcelona’s residents continue to offer traditional and innovative Catalan cuisine. So let’s Sip and Savour it!

Sip and Savour Sant Antoni Tour – Oh, The Places We’ll Go!

We will start at the oldest church in Barcelona, on the border of Sant Antoni, where I’ll explain how the city changed from its early days, from medieval sieges, to Modernista era Barcelona and beyond – this neighbourhood has dramatically shaped the city’s food preferences over time. Then we visit the emblematic Sant Antoni market, renovated in BLAH, to see how locals shop. After trying some delicacies at the market, we move on to a local bodega style wine bar, to learn a bit about the local wine scene, and try out the produce of course! There are three more stops along the Sip and Savour Sant Antoni route, which have been carefully curated to offer you the best tastes of Barcelona according to season. Dietary preferences can be catered for.
